Which is better?

Fashion Tog - you get to hang out with hod models, travel, wake up at 2 pm, not worry about anything except dropping another 10K on a new set of strobes/camera body/lenses etc all without having to attend college and get paid 5-50K a shoot

MD - you get sued for failing to read the last 50 page study on treatment of XYZ and will likely only make 50K as you look up retired grannie's butt-holes and listen to their stories about their grandchilren as they coo and leer at you

I'm actually a serious amateur / semi-pro photographer and the competition is very very fierce. Photographers can and actually do get sued as well. Much like the encroachment of territory by noctors and the like, you have mom and pops with cheaper and cheaper digi rebs and D40's out there taking pictures of their precious little snowflakes eating up a lot of the less fun but profitable/reliable business. If it's not them, it's the legion of rank amateurs out there with the same idea as you. Your price is about 10x too high for anything but the top, experienced photographers as well (excepting the really lucky lucky bastards). The other part about fashion/glamor photography is avoiding with GWC syndrome and getting blacklisted.

If anything, you're probably better off being a paparazzi. Don't need the strobes as much and you get to follow hot celebs. A few hundred here and there for various pics with the 50k payoff pic every once in awhile might make it worth your while. Oh yeah, don't forget the business insurance in case some bodyguard destroys your equipment, some lowlife steals your gear, etc. That, and get an accountant since you'll be... duh duh DUH! (dramatic music)... self-employed!!!! [cue woman shrieking]
